The First World War: Global War

This episode 3 of the 2003 documentary: the First World War. It features the global battlefields and early sea battles from 1914-1916 include the Battle of the Falkland Islands in December 1914.

The Battle of Jutland: Clash of the Dreadnoughts

The battle of Jutland was the only major sea battle of the war and involved exchanges between the largest warships of the time - the Dreadnoughts. This video gives some excellent details about the battle and why the British lost so many ships - 14 compared to the German 11.

The First World War: Blockade

Episode 7 of the 2003 documentary: the First World War. Details the British blockade of Germany, the U-Boat campaign against Allied shipping, the sinking of the Lusitania, Battle of Jutland and the entry of the USA into the war.
